Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil new AI features of its new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Flip and Fold 6, at 'Galaxy Unpacked 2024', raising expectations.

Samsung Electronics will unveil its new Galaxy AI products at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France on July 10th at 3 PM (local time, 10 PM on July 10th in Korea). The event will be live streamed on Samsung Electronics Newsroom, Samsung.com, and Samsung Electronics YouTube.

The main products to be unveiled at this Unpacked event are expected to be the Galaxy Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Buds 3.

In particular, since the Galaxy Ring, which was first teased at Unpacked last January, is expected to be released around August of this year, its release at Unpacked seems inevitable. The Galaxy Ring will be released in three colors: silver, gold, and ceramic black. However, the exact release date and price have not been disclosed.

The Galaxy Z Flip and Fold 6 are expected to be the first Samsung foldable phones to feature on-device AI. In addition to the AI features applied to the Galaxy S24 series released last January, new AI features that take advantage of the foldable phone are expected to be added.

For example, Samsung Electronics has introduced functions such as AI-based △real-time interpretation during calls △real-time translation of messages △Circle to Search △Note Assist △Voice recording and translation △Image editing, etc. It has also introduced functions such as the search function 'Circle to Search' combined with cloud AI by loading Google's multimodal AI 'Gemini'.

Accordingly, it is observed that the Flip and Fold 6 will also be equipped with the Qualcomm AP Galaxy 'Snapdragon 8 3rd generation' that was equipped with the Galaxy S24 Ultra. According to foreign media, some upgrades are expected in the Fold 6 chipset.

The Flip 6's main camera resolution is expected to increase from 12 million pixels to 50 million pixels. The battery capacity will increase slightly to 4,000 mAh, and the RAM will increase to 12 GB. The price is expected to remain the same or slightly increase compared to the previous model. The Fold 6 is expected to maintain the same size and camera performance as the previous model, but the battery capacity is expected to increase slightly.

Meanwhile, the industry is predicting that the Flip/Fold 6 will see a 30% increase in sales compared to its predecessor. With this performance, it is explained that it will be possible to reclaim the top spot in the foldable phone market share that was lost to China's Huawei in the first quarter of last year.

Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics, a sponsor of the 2024 Paris Olympics to be held at the end of this month, is launching an all-out aggressive promotional offensive for its new Galaxy products. Immediately after the unpacking, it will operate the Galaxy Experience Space, a space to experience new Galaxy products. It will be operated in seven cities around the world from the 10th (11th in Korea).
