12 home appliances including system air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and vacuum cleaners have AI+ certification
Samsung Electronics' system air conditioner has been recognized for its artificial intelligence (AI) product quality, demonstrating its leadership in the home appliance sector.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 30th that its system air conditioner was the first in the domestic residential system air conditioner industry to receive the 'AI+ certification' hosted by the Korea Standards Association.
The AI+ certification is granted by the Korea Standards Association to prove the quality of artificial intelligence (AI) products based on the international standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
The Korea Standards Association conducts strict evaluations, including on-site evaluations to determine whether a continuous quality improvement system for AI systems is in place in accordance with the international standard for artificial intelligence management systems (ISO/IEC 42001), as well as software quality tests for product reliability, functional suitability, and security based on international standards (ISO/IEC 25023, 25051, and 25059).
The products that have newly received AI+ certification this year include the 2024 models of 'Bespoke AI Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line', 'DVM HOME Wind-Free 1WAY', and 'DVM S Eco'. These are indoor and outdoor products.
In addition to system air conditioners, Samsung Electronics has received certification for 12 home appliance products, including refrigerators, washing machines, cordless vacuum cleaners, and robot vacuum cleaners, holding the largest number of AI+ certifications in the industry.
The Bespoke AI Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line, launched last May, features high-efficiency cooling performance and a radar sensor to enhance energy efficiency and convenience.
The radar sensor detects human movement and recognizes absence situations to automatically switch to 'AI absence power saving', and even recognizes absence patterns to switch to power saving mode more quickly, helping reduce unnecessary power consumption.
It also detects changes in activity within a space to adjust the cooling intensity and air volume, and provides customized cooling by sending direct or indirect air according to the user's lifestyle and preferences.
The Bespoke AI Wind-Free System Air Conditioner Infinite Line provides an 'AI Comfort Mode' that takes into account not only the user's usage patterns but also various external factors both indoors and outdoors to take care of temperature, humidity, and air quality.
Samsung Electronics DA Business Division Vice President Yoo Mi-young said, “Samsung Electronics has been leading industry innovation by applying AI to various products as well as system air conditioners,” and “We will continue to advance AI solutions and expand the products to which they are applied to continue our leadership in ‘AI home appliances.’”
