Operating profit of $1.91 billion, operating profit margin of 28.8%
Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, announced its second quarter 2024 results for the fiscal year ended April 28.
Applied Materials' fiscal year 2024 second quarter global sales were $6.65 billion and gross margin was 47.4% under U.S. accounting standards. Operating profit and operating margin were $1.91 billion and 28.8%, respectively, and earnings per share (EPS) were $2.06.
In terms of non-GAAP, it recorded gross profit margin of 47.5%, operating profit of $1.93 billion, operating profit margin of 29%, and net income per share of $2.09.
Applied Materials generated $1.39 billion in cash from operations and returned $1.09 billion to shareholders, including $820 million in share repurchases and $266 million in dividends.
“We continued our strong performance in the second quarter of fiscal 2024, delivering revenue and earnings at the top end of our guidance range,” said Gary Dickerson, Applied Materials chairman and CEO.
He added, “Applied Materials has the largest portfolio of chip-related materials engineering technologies that support tectonic shifts in technology such as AI, IoT, electric vehicles, and clean energy, and is well-positioned to drive long-term growth in line with major semiconductor industry trends.”
