Leading the way in community coexistence, providing extensive cultural and artistic education to 40 elementary school students
Applied Materials Korea (CEO Park Kwang-sun), a global leader in materials engineering solutions, has taken the lead in promoting mutual prosperity in the local community by providing extensive cultural and artistic education to 40 elementary school students living in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Applied announced on the 5th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation and will sponsor the 'With Harmony Orchestra Program' for the 5th consecutive year.
The With Harmony program run by the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation provides a wide range of cultural and artistic education to enhance the sociality and self-esteem of children in the local community. Applied Korea has been sponsoring the program since 2019 as part of its efforts to make a positive contribution to the local community.
The 2024 With Harmony program will be conducted for 40 elementary school students living in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Participating children will learn to play various instruments such as the violin, cello, clarinet, and flute, and develop a sense of unity and confidence through ensemble performance. At the end of the year, you can experience a sense of accomplishment by presenting an orchestra performance at a concert for local residents.
With Harmony also offers a music sensitivity enhancement program that fosters cultural and artistic sensibilities, recreational activities for participating children that help build relationships, and a mentor-mentee program between orchestra graduates and new participants.
Park Gwang-sun, CEO of Applied Materials Korea, said, “Many children who have participated in the With Harmony program so far have had meaningful times cultivating their cultural and artistic talents and fostering sociality and cooperation. In addition, they showed that they give back to the local community by moving an audience of 400 at a concert last December.” He added, “Applied will support various social contribution activities to ensure the healthy future and growth of children and development with the local community.”
Applied Korea is carrying out various social contribution activities such as sponsoring 'With Harmony Orchestra', 'Our River Guardians', and 'Science Classroom Program'. It also operates 'Reals', a program for college students who dream of entering the semiconductor industry.
