USB3.0/2.0 Test Solution Introduction
Many developers think of USB as the most representative and commonly used application among high-speed serial interfaces. Recently, as USB 3.0 has expanded its territory into the mobile market, developers' demands for measurement and evaluation have increased sharply. Regarding USB 3.0, technically the transmission speed has increased more than tenfold, and various techniques such as SSC and de-emphasis have been applied to support this. In terms of test methods, compared to the existing USB 2.0, Rx testing using JBERT's loopback mode has been added in addition to Tx measurements using an oscilloscope, making the complexity and precision of testing differ to such an extent that it can be considered an entirely different interface. Agilent provides TX test solutions based on the Infiniium 90000 series equipment, which is the highest standard in signal integrity, and provides the N4903B serial BERT equipment for RX testing. Additionally, Agilent recently launched its own protocol analyzer U4611A and Jammer U4612A, making it possible to provide a complete TX/RX/protocol test solution. Through this session, we will cover technical details regarding physical layer measurements of these USB applications, and we will explore automated measurement methods utilizing Agilent's reliable and industry-leading Tx/Rx measurement solutions.
