Schneider Electric Korea, a global company leading the digital transformation of energy management and automation, has appointed Jiwoong Kwon, the current Vice President of the Power Business Unit, as the new CEO, effective January 1, 2025.
The new CEO, Jiwoong Kwon, joined Schneider Electric Korea in 2018 and served as Vice President of the IT Business Unit of the Korea, Taiwan, and Mongolia clusters. Since 2021, he has been contributing to the expansion of innovative and sustainable power management solutions in the Korean market as Vice President of the Power Business Unit.
CEO Kwon started out as a production technology and overseas project manager at Daewoo Heavy Industries (now Hyundai Rotem) in 1996, and since 2000 has worked as a business expert covering all areas of IT, including HW, SW, SI, consulting, network, CDN, and cloud, at global IT companies such as IBM, Cisco, Akamai, and Oracle. In particular, he was highly evaluated for significantly growing the business of major domestic electronic and electrical companies based on his deep insight and diverse practical experience.
President Kwon Ji-woong has extensive professional experience and insight in various industrial fields, including manufacturing such as semiconductors, displays, home appliances, batteries, and heavy industry, as well as major IT infrastructure businesses such as communications and data centers. As a global business leader, he has successfully implemented strategic innovation and digital transformation, and has led market growth by providing optimal solutions tailored to the characteristics of Industry 4.0 in each industrial group.
