Strengthening global partnership cooperation and commercializing innovative SDV development technology
“We are aiming to expand into the global market by using Korea as a testbed for SDV technology, and we will take on the role of an Asian hub by utilizing Korea’s IT and manufacturing strengths.”
Vector Korea announced on the 15th that it will provide customized solutions to customers by strengthening global partnership cooperation and commercializing innovative SDV development technology.
SDV is a concept that transforms automobiles from hardware-centered transportation to software platforms, and according to market research, it is expected to grow by an average of 34% per year until 2034, expanding to a scale of 700 billion dollars.
This is expected to bring great benefits to both automobile manufacturers and consumers.
Vector is a global automotive software company that provides software platforms, hardware tools, embedded software components, and consulting services that can simulate all driving environment scenarios on a single platform.
To address the complexity of SDV implementation and maximize efficiency, Vector Korea plans to introduce a high-performance computing (HPC) platform, a cloud-native development environment, an OTA (over-the-air update) system, Rust-based software development, and AI-based system testing.
These technologies provide innovative value in various aspects such as autonomous driving functions, real-time data processing, software updates, memory safety, and predictive analytics.
Vector Korea is We plan to actively respond to market changes by developing modular software architecture and ADAS virtual controllers in cooperation with major domestic companies such as Hyundai Motor Company, LG Electronics, and Samsung Electronics, and expanding the SDV ecosystem.
Vector Korea has announced 'vVirtualTarget' and 'vHypervisor', which are ECU virtualization-based simulation solutions in SDV environments, to support developers to simulate various scenarios without physical hardware.
In addition, we are accelerating the commercialization of SDV technology by providing development tools such as API and SDK through 'vService', an SDV automobile after-sales diagnostic solution.
“Vector will build an SDV ecosystem through a standardized approach and collaboration with partners and provide customized solutions to customers,” said Jang Ji-hwan, CEO of Vector Korea.
