Semiconductor Technology Conference, Sharing Advanced Technologies and Breaking Through Technology Limits
The semiconductor industry, which has been experiencing difficulties recently, is paying attention to the global semiconductor industry as a place has been created to overcome the limitations of semiconductor technology by sharing the latest technologies and semiconductor market information.

SEMICON Korea 2023, Korea's largest semiconductor industry exhibition, was held on the 1st at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. This exhibition, which will be held with approximately 450 companies and 2,100 booths, will feature approximately 20 conferences and 120 semiconductor experts as speakers, sharing the latest market outlook and manufacturing technology insights.

△In-depth presentations will be given in various fields and topics, including the SEMI Technology Symposium, Metrology and Inspection Forum, Testing Forum, Smart Manufacturing Forum, Sustainable Manufacturing Forum, and Market Trend Forum.

The SEMI Technology Forum divides the semiconductor manufacturing process into six categories: △Lithography △Materials △Device △Etching △CMP & Cleaning △Packaging, and presents the latest semiconductor manufacturing technology in each category. Major chipmakers such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, as well as semiconductor small and medium-sized enterprises and academia, participate to share technology roadmaps from the perspective of the entire supply chain.

The Metrology and Inspection Forum is addressing the emergence of new semiconductor technologies such as GAA, BVNAND, and NSPDN, which are also posing new technical challenges in the metrology field. This forum provides various solutions under the theme of ‘The Era of Convergence of Measurement and Inspection’.

The Smart Manufacturing Forum is receiving attention for AI and intelligence being introduced in the semiconductor industry to increase productivity and reduce costs in the manufacturing process, and will present data analysis technologies and various cases under the theme of 'Future Smart Factory'.

In addition, there will be a test forum to share insights on next-generation test solutions, a sustainable manufacturing forum to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy and achieve carbon neutrality, and a market trend forum with in-depth coverage of market outlook across the supply chain and the impact of trade conflicts, with participation from specialized semiconductor industry research firms.

In addition, SEMI is focusing on programs to attract excellent talent as the global semiconductor talent shortage worsens.

There is 'Meet the Experts' where you can meet current engineers in various positions and receive career counseling and career development advice, and 'Women in Technology' where female leaders and engineers in the semiconductor industry present their vision.

In addition, it was reported that at this exhibition, domestic small and medium-sized enterprises will hold about 80 business meetings with Global Foundries, Kioxia, and Micron through 'purchase consultation meetings'. In addition, the 'US Semiconductor Investment Briefing Session' with Select USA, an affiliate of the US Department of Commerce, will be held to support domestic small and medium-sized enterprises in seeking overseas expansion opportunities.

Cho Hyun-dae, CEO of SEMI Korea, said, “The annual growth rate of SEMI membership is at the level of 3.7%, and while membership used to be limited to semiconductor companies, we have recently seen a noticeable increase in the number of companies in the supply chain, including small and medium-sized businesses, automobiles, and system companies joining.” He added, “This year’s SEMICON Korea 2023 will be held on a grand scale for the first time in four years since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the expected number of visitors is over 60,000.”
