SAP Korea (CEO Shin Eun-young) is leading the digital transformation of Hyundai Mobis, and has gone beyond the conversion of the ERP system to apply new technologies to maximize user convenience, while simultaneously optimizing the performance and strengthening the security of Hyundai Mobis' massive database.
SAP announced on the 18th that it had successfully completed the digital transformation of Hyundai Mobis in cooperation with Hyundai Autoever.
SAP Korea, together with Hyundai Autoever, a mobility tech company of Hyundai Motor Group, has carried out a project to build a new cloud ERP system for Hyundai Mobis based on ‘RISE with SAP.’
This project went beyond the conversion of the ERP system and focused on maximizing user convenience by applying new technologies.
Hyundai Autoever Solutions Division formed a TF organization and completed the difficult task of re-verifying and digitalizing the consistency of data in various business areas held by Hyundai Mobis, including production, finance, sales, purchasing, quality, and human resources.
By establishing a business process classification system and management standards, we also contributed to improving the quality of business processes and establishing a responsible operating system.
We also conducted several efficient tests by integrating infrastructure and processes, which resulted in ‘performance optimization’ and ‘security enhancement.’It achieved two goals simultaneously:
The system that had to be implemented was also very complex, as Hyundai Mobis had to convert over 30TB of data from various business areas.
Even under these difficult conditions, SAP Korea and Hyundai Autoever actively utilized their accumulated rich experience, cooperative system, and numerous ERP implementation and conversion know-how to successfully complete all tasks within the project deadline. In particular, by adopting the NZDT (Near Zero Downtime) method, they minimized the downtime that could occur during system conversion, and the cloud ERP built in this way is expected to establish itself as an innovative success story.
It is also noteworthy that Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Autoever went through a thorough proof of concept (POC) phase before embarking on a full-scale project. At this stage, Hyundai Mobis closely examined the feasibility and expected effects of the new system, identified potential problems in advance, and prepared response scenarios for various situations that could arise during construction.
Shin Young-young, CEO of SAP Korea, said, “As the scale of business expands and its complexity increases, the optimal solution for managing it becomes more important,” and “SAP will maintain a close relationship with Hyundai Mobis and actively cooperate in implementing innovative mobility solutions.”
