ST마이크로일렉트로닉스(STMicroelectronics, 이하 ST)가 고도로 통합된 로우 사이드 전류 측정 증폭기 TSC1801을 출시했다.
Optimizing automotive and motor control applications
STMicroelectronics (ST) has launched a highly integrated low-side current measurement amplifier, the TSC1801.
This product is designed to simplify circuit design and reduce component costs, and is characterized by ensuring high precision.
The TSC1801 configures the gain setting by integrating matched resistors, providing high gain accuracy of within 0.15% across the temperature range.
By applying a fixed gain design that does not require external resistance, the trimming process can be eliminated in the production process, which is expected to have a cost-saving effect.
This amplifier can be used in a variety of applications including motor control, solar power conditioning, high bandwidth current sensing, and automotive power conditioning.
Currently available models provide a fixed gain of 20 V/V, with 5 V/V and 50 V/V models to be added in the future.
It supports bidirectional current sensing and is designed for use with precision low-resistance shunts at low common-mode voltages.
Based on a dedicated architecture specialized for low-side current sensing, it provides a total output error of less than 0.5% and an offset voltage of up to ±200μV, enabling precise measurements.
The TSC1801 provides a wide bandwidth of 2.1MHz for high frequency Precise pulse-based current control is also possible in power management systems. This allows for more precise torque adjustments in motor drives, which can lead to substantial performance improvements, such as reduced vibration.
It quickly detects overcurrent conditions through a fast response speed, and protects sensitive components of the output stage and prevents damage when an error occurs. It also operates over a wide voltage range of 2.0 V to 5.5 V and supports a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.
As a product targeting the automotive market, it has been certified to meet AEC-Q100 and Q003 standards, and has additionally completed advanced reliability tests according to AEC-Q001 and Q002 standards.
The TSC1801 can be used in industrial applications as well as automotive power conversion, power management in servers and communications infrastructure, power factor correction (PFC), and high-precision signal conditioning.
The industrial-grade TSC1801BILT, which provides a fixed gain of 20 V/V, is available now in a 6-lead SOT23 DIP package, priced starting at $0.54 in 1,000-piece quantities. An automotive-grade version is planned for Q2 2025.
