▲ 2023 World IT Show Conference Qualcomm Managing Director Myungdae Oh wealthThe 'Global ICT Outlook Conference' was packed with people at the conference stage in Hall C of the event venue as an agency. Starting with the Korea Impact Tech Awards ceremony, lectures on topics such as △Aerospace △Quantum △Chat GPT △AI/DX △Platform △UAM △Robot △5G followed.
In an AI session related to ChatGPT, Naver Cloud AI Lab Director Jungwoo Ha presented on the ecosystem that will transform into a super-large AI in the future.
Director Ha said, “AI will bring about many changes to the ecosystem, and domestic companies must respond strategically to global companies such as Open AI through collaboration,” and “Naver’s HyperClova was made in Korea, so it provides more accurate content compared to ChatGPT-4, which lacks Korean understanding, and this will determine good quality.”
Naver Clova has the advantage of lowering the price and speed of multilingual translation by creating a Korean-centered token dictionary. It currently provides convenience in Naver Shopping marketing tools, Clova Care AI call service, etc., and it is expected to be useful for solving business opportunities and social problems. Hyper Clova X, which is specialized in individual fields and connected to actual productivity tools, will be released in July.
Myung-Dae Oh, Managing Director of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies Korea, gave a presentation on the topic of 5G specialized network opportunities.
It has been a long time since 5G was first commercialized, but 5G is not actually showing much performance. Mr. Oh emphasized the importance of combining it with IoT technology for commercialization of 5G.
5G specialized networks can be utilized in various forms, and because the future ramifications will be significant, we must recognize the potential and build 5G infrastructure now. To this, Managing Director Oh added, “We need to build a foundation for moving to 6G based on 5G mobile communications.”
Qualcomm, famous as a 5G chipset manufacturer, provides the entire operating system, including solutions for not only devices but also base stations and operating platforms. It is implementing and verifying 5G factory and building automation by forming an ecosystem through collaboration with domestic and international partners. A demonstration was also conducted at Schneider's French factory.
Mr. Oh Sang-moo said, “Qualcomm is working to open up the 5G specialized network market in Korea through partnerships with domestic equipment manufacturers, device manufacturers such as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, and SI companies such as Ericsson-LG, LG CNS, SKT, and KT that provide integrated services based on Qualcomm’s solutions.”
