Emcoretech Develops World's First Active EMI Filter
Introduction to Tektronix EMI measurement equipment and SW tools
At the recently held EMC KOREA 2024, domestic and international EMC solution companies gathered together to showcase their main EMI/EMC products.
On this day, the following companies participated in the corporate exhibition booths: △KH Electronics (Tektronix distribution partner), △EMCORETECH, △DaehanShield Engineering, △Huwin, △HCITY, △EMCTECH, △NoiseKorea, △R&C, △EMC Solution, △Iretech, and △EMSIS.
On this day, we met with EMCoreTech, which succeeded in developing active filter products in EMI solutions, and KH Electronics, the domestic distributor of Tektronix that presents EMI measurement solutions, and talked.
■ EMCoreTech Active EMI Filter, Completely Magnetically Insulated Structure

Emcoretec, the world's first company to launch an active EMI filter semiconductor in 2021, has secured semiconductor reliability from high-voltage disturbance signals through an insulating structure. It is an EMI filter specialized company with more than 35 domestic and international patents, and Professor Jin-Guk Kim of UNIST founded it and serves as its CEO.
EMCORETECH's active EMI filter module not only cancels out conductive noise but also has monitoring functions, and its potential has been recognized by being recently selected for the Star Fabless program by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Current active EMI filters are facing challenges such as vulnerability to surges, overvoltages, etc., as well as noise amplification and oscillation problems that may occur during the compensation signal generation injection process. Accordingly, it is predicted that non-insulated products released on the market will have clear limitations in practical product application.
After going through all these trials and errors, EMCoreTech has launched an active EMI filter semiconductor with guaranteed insulation reliability into the market. EMCoreTec products, which have a fully self-insulating structure, have characteristics that are far superior in high-voltage reliability.
“We can reduce CE electromagnetic noise by up to 34dB from 150kHz to several MHz bands,” said Shin-ae Joo, Vice President of EMCoreTech. “We are currently conducting reliability tests for application in next-generation products for Samsung, Hyundai, LG, etc.”

▲Tektronix products on display
As a distributor of Tektronix products, KH Electronics showcased the main series of Tektronix oscilloscope products. The 2, 5, and 6 series MSO products were on display, and the 2 series, which is suitable for handhelds, and the latest 6 series products were introduced.
The 2 Series offers the advantage of a full suite of analysis tools, with one tap for immediate access to instrument configuration and waveform management tasks. Small enough to fit in a laptop bag, it has bandwidths up to 500 MHz, a maximum sample rate of 2.5 GS/s, and supports 2 to 4 channels and front/side I/O ports.
The 6 Series oscilloscopes are available in bandwidths from 1 GHz up to 10 GHz and solve and validate high-speed design challenges. It supports 6 to 8 channels and enables 4 to 8 multi-channel spectrum analysis.
We introduce the RSA306B USB spectrum analyzer, which enables monitoring of EMI data measured by such measuring equipment on a computer. It includes SignalVu-PC RF spectrum analyzer software and analyzes RF signals acquired by an oscilloscope or real-time spectrum analyzer offline. It is mainly used in EMI/EMC pre-compliance testing and debugging.
A KH Electronics official said, “Tektronix recently acquired EA Electro-Automatic (EA), a leader in high-power electronic test and measurement solutions, and is now handling EA power-related products.”
