[Special Lecture] "Mastering Ethernet Design and Debugging Using Intel E-tile Hard IP"
This webinar covers how to implement high-speed Ethernet using Intel FPGA in increasingly high-speed Ethernet networks such as 10G, 25G, and 100G, as well as how to debug Ethernet using the Quartus tool.
Intel FPGA supports PHY and MAC for Ethernet use. In the Arria 10 series, the PHY uses hard IP from the FPGA and the MAC uses soft IP to implement high-speed Ethernet.
However, in the Stratix 10 series, Ethernet can be implemented using hard IP for not only PHY but also some MAC.

The Stratix 10 series features multiple transceiver tiles such as H-tile, E-tile, and P-tile. E-tile is a transceiver tile with 10G/25G/100G MAC and RS-FEC block implemented as hard IP. By using E-tile's hard IP, soft MAC IP costs can be reduced and FPGA internal logic resources occupied by soft IP can be saved. Stratix 10 series with E-tile configuration includes Stratix 10 TX and Stratix 10 DX.
After implementing high-speed Ethernet PHY and MAC using E-tile hard IP, the Ethernet must be tested to ensure proper operation in the FPGA, and the Ethernet toolkit is used for this purpose.

The Ethernet toolkit is a debugging tool for analyzing the status of Intel Ethernet IP in real-time through JTAG from Quartus.
No additional equipment is required beyond the Intel FPGA download cable, and it features a GUI-based interface. Through the Ethernet toolkit, you can check link status and access configuration and status registers of the Ethernet IP.
