As demand for AI data centers is expected to become a key market for the semiconductor industry in the future, SK Hynix is increasingly collaborating with companies in the United States, a leader in AI technology.

SK Hynix announced on the 10th that it signed an agreement with SK Telecom and Penguin Solutions for 'joint R&D and business promotion of AI data center solutions' on the 9th in Las Vegas, USA, local time.

The signing ceremony was attended by key figures from each company, including Yoo Young-sang, CEO of SKT, Mark Adams, CEO of Penguin Solutions, and Kim Joo-sun, President of SK Hynix AI Infrastructure.

Penguin Solutions is an American AI data center integration solutions company that builds and manages customized data centers for companies that provide AI services.

Through this agreement, the three companies will explore new markets and engage in joint research and development (R&D) and commercialization of solutions for the global expansion of AI data centers. We also plan to work closely together in the development of next-generation memory products for data centers to expand SK Hynix’s differentiated HBM competitiveness.

SK Hynix stated, “Innovation in memory semiconductor technology is essential for efficient operation of AI data centers, and in particular, improving power efficiency and heat dissipation performance are key tasks.” It added, “Through cooperation with SK Telecom and Penguin Solutions, we will overcome the limitations of memory technology and lead the expansion of the global AI ecosystem.”
