Enhanced security and family-tailored AI technology
Expanding beyond home to vehicles, ships, and businesses
Samsung Electronics envisioned a personalized future home with enhanced security and family-tailored home AI at CES 2025.
Samsung Electronics introduced 'Home AI' for hyper-personalization under the theme of 'AI for All' at 'CES 2025', the world's largest electronics show held in Las Vegas, USA from January 7th to 10th.
Samsung Electronics set up the largest exhibition hall among the companies participating in CES, at 3,368㎡, and showcased various AI technologies and products equipped with the SmartThings Hub.
First, we proposed 'Home AI', a hyper-personalized AI solution that reflects various housing types and lifestyles.
Home AI is implemented based on Samsung’s differentiated AI technology and the connectivity of SmartThings.
Security was the top priority for implementing Home AI.
Samsung's Knox Matrix is a blockchain-based security technology that strengthens security by allowing connected devices to check each other.
If a threat is detected, the device is immediately disconnected and the user is notified. Samsung Electronics also proved its security safety by receiving multiple ‘Diamond’ ratings, the highest rating, in UL Solutions’ IoT security evaluations.
SmartThings has enhanced usability with features such as Calm Onboarding, Quick Remote, and Map View.
In particular, Map View provides a customized space by 3D modeling furniture and home appliances using new AI technology.
Samsung Electronics introduced five types of homes that reflect the needs of various family members through Home AI.
Efficient homes feature products that save energy and time spent on housework, while health-conscious homes feature features that take care of the family's health, such as sleep and exercise.
Homes that can care for your loved ones provide advanced care services for parents, young children, pets, and more.
Additionally, homes that increase productivity and homes that 'show new experiences' offer a variety of experiences, such as work, study, and appreciation of art.
SmartThings has expanded beyond homes to include vehicles, ships, and business spaces.
The vehicle's infotainment system via SmartThings was also introduced, including the ability to check vehicle status and control it remotely.
SmartThings technology can also be applied to autonomous ships to monitor and control devices on board the ship.
In addition, accessibility technology and social contribution activities for a better society through AI technology were introduced.
In addition to technologies for the visually impaired, such as accessibility settings synchronization and audible subtitles, the company has proposed a service that allows users to enjoy various works of art at home through partnerships with world-renowned art galleries.
