Keysight Ixia Solutions Group launched a scalable 5G UE (User Equipment) emulation solution on the 7th.
The new solution provides end-to-end 5G base station test capabilities enabling network equipment manufacturers and solution providers to meet customer expectations for latency, reliability, and ultra-high-speed broadband services in devices and network services.

The 5G market has already made preparations for the first 5G devices to be launched in March, but there is a need for methods to validate 5G NR RAN functionality through the latest communication protocol stacks for service providers and network equipment manufacturers.

Kailash Narayanan, Vice President and Head of Keysight's Wireless Test Division, said, "Keysight is making every effort to contribute to 3GPP standards for 5G NR device validation," adding, "Through these efforts, Keysight has been able to achieve the top position in both GCF and PTCRB test validation."

Keysight's 5G UE emulation solution centers on the XAir3 platform, which provides functional layer-by-layer testing and load, scale, and performance testing. XAir3 is the successor to the XAir2 4G LTE-Advanced UE emulation platform and supports non-standalone (NSA) and standalone (SA) modes, sub-6 GHz and mmWave radio, and xRAN architecture. Through this solution, users can perform capacity testing, analyze cell throughput, and measure voice and video quality. Additionally, it enables modeling of a wide range of mobility scenarios before, during, and after service rollout with a single tool in the laboratory without actual devices.
