Siemens Digital Industries Software announced on the 17th that it has released the latest version of 'Solid Edge Software 2020'.

This version features various functional improvements designed to help small and medium-sized manufacturers accelerate product development and manufacturing processes.

Solid Edge 2020 provides next-generation technology that enhances collaboration and enables the complete digitization of the process from design to manufacturing through new features such as Augmented Reality (AR), extended verification tools, model-based definition, and 2D nesting.

Through AR capabilities, users can visualize designs in new ways, enabling closer collaboration not only internally but also with suppliers and customers during the design process.

Solid Edge 2020 integrates validation tools for motion and vibration simulation, which can reduce costly prototyping work.

If model-based definitions are added, customers can clearly define various parts, assemblies, and manufacturing instructions related to 3D models.

Through the 2D nesting function, you can experience benefits such as cutting pattern optimization, waste reduction, cost reduction, and manufacturing process improvement.

Solid Edge 2020 provides hundreds of core CAD features across the portfolio, including new sheet metal capabilities, large assembly performance 3–10 times faster, and new data and migration tools.

The newly enhanced features promote the development of software applications that are easy to use and maintain, while also helping to improve overall aspects of the product development process.

Daniel Froehlich, Business Manager of PLM at Eagle Burgmann's Standardization Department, explained, "The new model-based definition feature in Solid Edge 2020 will be a great help in moving away from environments that simply use paper documents and building a completely digital environment," adding, "When implementing PDFs in 3D format using digital models, designs can be shared without the need to visualize additional drawings."
