JEC ASIA 2019 to be held from the 13th to the 15th
Over 200 exhibitors from 49 countries participated
It will be held under the new name JEC Korea starting next year.


The 12th International Composite Materials Exhibition 'JEC ASIA 2019', hosted by JEC Group, will be held from the 13th to the 15th at Halls C1, C2, and D1 of COEX, Seoul.

This year's exhibition area is 10,000 m², which is 16% larger than last year, and more than 200 exhibitors from 49 countries are participating. The organizers expected that more than 7,000 experts would visit over the three days.

The exhibition focuses on end-user markets in various fields, including automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, architecture and construction, electrical and electronic equipment, sports and leisure, and transportation.

At the opening ceremony, Eric Pierrejean, CEO of JEC Group, stated, “I was surprised by the rapid development of Korea’s composite materials industry day by day,” adding, “JEC Asia 2019 is a venue where industry, academia, and research institutes join forces to share innovation, and it is a place that particularly showcases the current state of Korea’s rapidly developing composite materials community.”

In his congratulatory remarks, Yoo Jung-yeol, Director General of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, “I ask for the cooperation of many domestic and international related organizations for the development of the composite materials industry,” adding that “the government will also spare no support.”

In his congratulatory remarks, Kim Young-joo, Chairman of the Korea International Trade Association, stated, “I hope for continued cooperation from many support organizations, including the JEC Group, so that Korean startups participating in the Startup Booster competition held during this exhibition can expand beyond Korea and join the Global Value Chains (GVCs) of European manufacturing companies.”

At the opening ceremony, an MOU signing ceremony between the Korea International Trade Association and Jeollabuk-do was also held.

During the exhibition, various events will also be held, including a series of conferences highlighting the latest applications of composite materials in the automotive and aerospace sectors, B2B meeting programs, an innovation awards ceremony, student workshop programs, and a startup booster for the composite materials industry.

Meanwhile, JEC Asia is scheduled to be held under the new name JEC Korea starting in 2020.
