LG Uplus, a leader in domestic home IoT services, is partnering with Rinnai Korea to introduce an IoT boiler.

The two companies announced that they have launched an IoT boiler that connects the Rinnai Smart Wi-Fi boiler to LG Uplus’s home IoT platform, IoT@home, allowing users to be notified of the boiler's status 24 hours a day via smartphone and remotely controlled anytime, anywhere.

The IoT boiler allows users to control various functions, such as heating, temperature control, and scheduling, anytime and anywhere via the IoT@home app. It also offers smart modes like sleep and energy saving, providing convenient features for users even when away from home or on vacation.

Rinnai Korea has applied a smart upgrade system to its IoT boilers, enabling users to utilize IoT boiler functions simply by replacing the thermostat without purchasing the boiler unit. The upgradeable models include six standard boilers, such as the R330, and eight condensing boilers, such as the RC33.

LG Uplus and Rinnai Korea plan to expand IoT services beyond boilers to include individual room temperature control systems, gas ranges, and electric ranges. To this end, the two companies signed a memorandum of understanding regarding an IoT service partnership.

Ryu Chang-soo, Senior Vice President of Home IoT at LG Uplus, stated, “In the new year of 2016, LG Uplus will continue to expand IoT services that provide tangible value to customers through the continuous expansion of partnerships.”
