Samsung Electronics will launch the 2016 'Galaxy A5 (5.2-inch)' and 'Galaxy A7 (5.5-inch)' in Korea on the 14th.

The 2016 'Galaxy A' supports the mobile payment service 'Samsung Pay'. Samsung Electronics stated that by equipping the 'Galaxy A' with 'Samsung Pay' and a fingerprint recognition sensor, which were previously only available on flagship models such as the Galaxy S6 and Note 5, consumers can use 'Samsung Pay' conveniently and securely.

In addition, it was explained that the 2016 'Galaxy A', equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera, features powerful camera functions that have been upgraded from its predecessor.

Samsung Electronics explained that by employing F1.9 aperture lenses on both the front and rear, it enables bright and clear photos even in dark places, and by incorporating Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), it allows for capturing sharper photos with less shaking. It was also announced that it supports a 'Quick Launcher' feature that launches the camera within one second of double-clicking the home button, as well as various selfie functions.

It supports 'Wide Selfie' which widens the field of view up to 120°, 'Palm Selfie' which takes a photo by opening the palm, and 'Beauty Effects' which allows you to set skin tone, eye size, and face shape in steps.

The 'Galaxy A' completes an even more stylish and distinctive design through the perfect harmony of metal and glass. The thinner bezels maximize immersion when viewing images or videos. It also supports an external memory slot, allowing consumers who require large amounts of storage for videos, photos, and work files to expand capacity up to 128GB.

The Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 are equipped with 2GB and 3GB of RAM, respectively, and feature a 1.6 GHz octa-core processor and a Full HD Super AMOLED display. Both models will be released in three colors: Pink Gold, Black, and White. The retail prices are 528,000 won for the Galaxy A5 and 599,500 won for the Galaxy A7.

Samsung Electronics is also running a promotion linked to 'Samsung Pay' to coincide with the launch of the 'Galaxy A'. If you purchase a 'Galaxy A' and participate in the Samsung Pay event, you can receive a coupon to purchase a 3,000mAh battery pack or a flip wallet cover for 5,000 won.
