95.2% Efficiency - Korea's Highest Conversion Efficiency
LG Electronics is launching 'LG Micro Inverter', a residential solar micro inverter product, in the domestic market. This product boasts the highest efficiency in Korea. Following the 'NeON 2', Korea's most efficient solar module, LG Electronics is now expanding into the residential high-efficiency solar market by launching a solar inverter as well.
Generally, small-scale residential solar systems installed on apartment balconies consist of a solar module (solar panel), solar micro inverter, and outdoor mounting bracket. The solar micro inverter is an 'essential product' that converts direct current (DC) generated from the solar module into alternating current (AC) suitable for household use. The solar micro inverter can be connected directly to a 220V household outlet, making installation and use convenient.
Enhanced Installation Convenience - Korea's Lightest (1.6kg) and Thinnest Product (28mm)
The 'LG Micro Inverter (Model: LM305KS-G1)' has an inverter efficiency of 95.2%, the highest in Korea, minimizing electrical losses. Inverter efficiency refers to the efficiency of converting DC to AC. Existing domestic products have inverter efficiency levels of 91.2% to 94.4%.
This product is the lightest (approximately 1.6kg) and thinnest (29mm) in Korea. Due to its installation characteristics on balconies, being lighter and thinner makes installation easier and safer.
Lee Chung-ho, Executive Vice President of LG Electronics' Solar Business Division, stated, "We will lead the residential solar micro inverter market with our premium product featuring Korea's highest conversion efficiency."
Meanwhile, LG Electronics has established itself as a premium brand in the global market since beginning solar research in 1995. Last year, the company won the Intersolar Award in the solar section with 'NeON 2', an ultra-high-efficiency solar module with 19.5% efficiency, the world's highest standard for 6-inch (15.67cm) N-type 60-cell modules. From this year through the first half of 2018, the company is intensifying market initiatives by investing 527.2 billion won in expanding the solar production line in Gumi.
