LG Uplus opens the era of 100Mbps LTE. Uploading even VR videos is now possible.

Provides LTE upload speed of 112.5Mbps, enabling uploading personal broadcasts or virtual reality videos to social media.
The countdown has begun for the commercialization of network technology for upload-type services, such as 4K-quality (four times the quality of Full HD) personal broadcasting and VR video sharing, on social network services (SNS) that were previously photo-centric.
LG Uplus announced on the 10th that it has completed the simultaneous development of Uplink CA (Carrier Aggregation) technology, which provides LTE upload speeds of 112.5 Mbps—the highest level in Korea—and 64QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) technology, which enhances the efficiency of LTE frequency bands, and is ready to apply them to commercial networks.
The Uplink CA being applied this time is a technology that improves transmission speed by combining LTE upload frequencies. In particular, LG Uplus has a 2.6GHz wideband frequency band, so it can provide the highest level of upload service in Korea by applying uplink CA.
LG Uplus plans to provide a service with an upload speed of up to 75Mbps by applying uplink CA technology to combine the 50Mbps upload speed of the 2.6GHz frequency with the 25Mbps upload speed of the 800MHz or 2.1GHz band.
By applying 64QAM technology to increase LTE data transmission efficiency, it becomes possible to upload at a maximum speed of 112.5Mbps, which is a 225% improvement over the existing system.
Starting in March, when smartphones equipped with Uplink CA and 64QAM are released, users will be able to immediately use speeds of 112.5Mbps without any separate settings. With the simultaneous commercialization of Uplink CA and 64QAM technologies, LG Uplus customers will be able to share next-generation video content, such as 360-degree VR videos or 4K high-definition videos, more quickly.
