Establishment of a search and rescue system and a hazardous materials safety management system

The Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, together with the National Information Society Agency, is promoting four pilot projects for the 2016 u-service support program to discover new administrative service models by integrating advanced information technology (IT) into administrative tasks.

A large number of projects are being promoted to add convenience to the lives of citizens through advanced technology, such as utilizing information technology (IT) to search for and rescue people in distress and to manage the health and safety of elderly parents living in rural areas.

The tasks to be pursued this year include a total of four projects: ▲establishment of a public life-saving search system ▲establishment of a safety management system for import and export hazardous materials ▲family-cooperative rural parent safety caregiver project ▲establishment of a Seocho Map utilizing u-sharing communities.

The establishment of a nationwide life-saving search system is a project to install advanced infrastructure that enables systematic rescue operations by displaying the location of search personnel in real-time on a map in the 119 situation room during the search for missing persons in mountainous areas, thereby facilitating the effective setting of search zones and the deployment of rescue personnel.

The establishment of a safety management system for import and export hazardous materials is a project that lays the foundation for firefighters to take quick and accurate action in the event of an accident by attaching beacons (short-range communication technology modules) containing information such as the type of material and accident response to the inside and outside of containers transporting import and export hazardous materials.

The Family-Cooperative Rural Parent Safety Caregiver Project installs digital pill boxes and blood pressure monitors in parents' homes for cases requiring regular medication and health monitoring, such as hypertension, so that medication intake and blood pressure readings are transmitted in real-time to the children's smartphones, allowing them to monitor their parents' health status.It is a rock.
