Quantum, a company in the field of scale-out storage and data protection, announced on the 25th that it supplied 'StorNext M440' and 'QXS-5600 storage' to advertising production company Postagit to improve the CF production environment and enhance management efficiency.

Post Azit faced difficulties in rapid collaboration as multiple video editors worked together simultaneously, with slowdowns in data sharing and transmission, and the existing storage system frequently became overloaded. Additionally, there was a need for stable storage that could immediately identify and replace large files while coordinating with advertisers to modify commercials on-site.



To address this, PostAzit introduced StorNext M440 and QXS-5600 storage and rebuilt its storage from the existing 60TB to 224TB by utilizing an internal network accessible only from within.

As a result, the transition from the existing NAS environment to a SAN and LAN-based system has significantly improved I/O performance, reducing system capacity overload and increasing stability, thereby accelerating video editing tasks and video data transmission processing speeds.The data transmission time was reduced to 1/4.

Quantum's StorNext M440 is fully compatible with the Apple SAN file system (Apple Xsan), making it useful for small to medium-sized creative work environments. In addition, like the existing StorNext product family, the three new products support leading media resource management, editing, production, transcoding, and playback programs provided by Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, Avid, Telestream, and others.

In the future, data can be managed by tiering it according to usage, and it can also be used as an archiving solution by utilizing existing disks and tapes. If necessary, a single Quantum Tape Library can be expanded up to 12,000 slots to accommodate continuous data growth.

In addition, it is expected that management convenience can be enhanced through diagnostic services, library resource management, and library internal I/O management functions by utilizing the iLayer software installed for system monitoring and data protection functions, which can prevent failures in advance by using the Extended Data Life Management (EDLM) function to periodically check for errors or problems in tape media where data is stored in preparation for long-term storage.

Quantum's 'QXS-5600' is a high-capacity disk storage that supports a wide range of applications, including 4K and 8K video production, post-production, and geospatial imaging. In particular, the QXS-5600 is optimized for intensive data management by providing enterprise-grade high performance, high availability, and manageability. The QXS-5600 provides twice the storage capacity per rack unit compared to existing products for small disk arrays, and saves cooling, power, and installation space required to run high-performance applications.
