LG Chem is participating in the international plastics and rubber industry exhibition 'Chinaplas 2016,' which will be held for four days from April 25 to 28.

LG Chem’s booth, operating a 6m high and 400m area exhibition hall at the Shanghai New International Expo Center in Pudong, Shanghai, China, is the largest among the 3,200 participating companies from over 40 countries.

LG Chem has set its exhibition concept at ChinaPlas as 'Smart Future' and is introducing materials that enable the realization of a smart life for future humanity through four exhibition zones: Smart People Zone, Smart Home Zone, Smart City Zone, and Automotive Zone.



The Smart People Zone exhibits chemical materials applied to various products used as children grow, including high-value synthetic resins such as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) and SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer), which absorbs up to 500g of water with a weight of 1g and is mainly used in diapers.Next-generation strategic products such as Seongsuji will be showcased.

The Smart Home Zone exhibits home appliances, office equipment, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices for homes and offices, and showcases existing products such as PC (Poly Carbonate) and PVC (Poly Vinyl Chloride), as well as self-repairing scratch coating layer materials currently under development at the R&D center.

In the Smart City Zone, the company is introducing products applied to technologies that can efficiently manage water and energy, which will be key resources in the future. These include RO filter products, blind spot detection radar using CNT (Carbon Nano Tube), solar panel sheets using High EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate), and industrial and residential ESS products.

The Automotive Zone displays full-scale automotive models to showcase various materials and components based on basic materials. In particular, it features engineering plastics that enable vehicle lightweighting, as well as high-performance synthetic rubber (SSBR; Solution Styrene Butadiene Rubber).

An official from LG Chem stated, "Based on our successful business experience in China and world-class product competitiveness, we plan to focus on further strengthening LG Chem's brand image and securing substantial global customers through this exhibition."
