Riverbed Announces SD-WAN SteelConnect for Cloud Networking
Published2016.04.28 14:21Riverbed Technology announced its new SD-WAN product, 'Riverbed® SteelConnect™'.
Riverbed has developed SteelConnect, a product capable of automatically detecting and managing applications, and provides the performance and agility required by enterprises by offering an application-defined approach to networks.
SteelConnect is a product that provides network connectivity and application-based network management for hybrid WAN segments, branch LANs, and cloud environments such as AWS (currently supported) and Microsoft Azure (support scheduled for late 2016).
SteelConnect fully integrates secure WAN gateways, remote LAN switches, and Wi-Fi access points, and is efficiently managed centrally through a cloud console with an intuitive and visual user interface. It improves network architecture for enterprises by significantly simplifying the design, implementation, and management processes of distributed networks.

Linear Launches Transceiver to Enhance PROFIBURS DP Networks
Linear Technology Korea (CEO Hong Sa-gwak) has announced the release of two types of robust RS485 transceivers (product names: LTC2876 and LTC2877) with excellent ruggedness and high-voltage tolerance, suitable for PROFIBUS-DP (decentralized periphery) master and slave devices. Similar to fieldbuses, PROFIBUS DP systems are prone to installation cross-wiring errors, ground voltage errors, or surge phenomena, which can trigger large-scale overvoltage conditions that exceed the maximum absolute ratings of general transceivers. Regardless of transmission state, reception state, standby state, or powered-off state, the LTC2876 and LTC2877 withstand ±60V at their bus pins and eliminate typical damage caused by transmission line errors.

Blue Coat Selected as '2016 Leading Network Security Forensics Firm'
Bluecoat Korea (www.bluecoat.co.kr), a cloud and APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) security company, announced today that it has been selected as a leading company in the network security forensics category by Frost & Sullivan, an IT research firm, at the "2016 Global Frost & Sullivan Market Leadership Awards." According to Frost & Sullivan, Bluecoat recorded revenues exceeding 1 billion dollars in the network security forensics market last year and captured a 14% market share, according to the survey.

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.
