3S Solution Signs Exclusive Official Domestic Distributor Agreement for Liteon ODDs
Published2016.07.22 12:183S Solution, a specialized IT distribution company, has signed an exclusive official domestic distribution agreement for ODDs with Liteon, a Taiwanese computer component manufacturer.
3S Solution is a specialized IT distribution company with a 12-year history, serving as the domestic distributor for TSST and distributing various computers and IT devices, including Samsung ODDs and TSST power banks. Recently, the company has been experiencing steady growth as a distribution firm by beginning the distribution of Novelview, a specialist in audio equipment.
The company stated that it expects to cause a seismic shift in the domestic ODD market by distributing Liteon ODDs based on its know-how from distributing Samsung ODDs.
Liteon, which signed the contract this time, is a globally recognized manufacturing company and a large group company with businesses in various fields, including SSDs, ODDs, LEDs, and various components. In particular, in the ODD sector, it dominated the global ODD market through PLDS (PHILIPS & LITE-ON DIGITAL SOLUTIONS), established in 2006 in partnership with Philips, and currently boasts a high market share worldwide.
To enter the Korean ODD market, Liteon plans to introduce a product that combines various features, such as Link2TV for connecting to Smart TVs and Android devices, and Smart-Burn for stable recording, alongside existing functions like disc reading and M-Disc.
With the official launch of Liteon ODDs in the Korean market—which were previously only available through unofficial channels such as parallel imports—stable service through domestic after-sales support is set to become available. Furthermore, the provision of customized features and services for domestic customers is expected to make the use and purchase of the product more convenient.
A 3S Solution official stated, "With Liteon entering the market alongside Samsung and LG, which have dominated the domestic ODD market, we expect the market to regain its vitality, and competitive research and development for customers will also take place in terms of technology," and added, "Official Liteon ODDs will be available in open markets and shopping malls in August."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM.
