Strategic acquisition of a company specializing in color and spectrum sensing
Market expansion in industrial, automotive, and medical applications

ams (Korea Country Representative Lee Jong-deok) announced that it has completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of MAZeT GmbH, a company specializing in color and spectrum sensing systems. The acquisition price was undisclosed. This strategic acquisition is expected to serve as a foundation for expanding ams's market dominance in the field of cutting-edge optical sensors and further strengthening its position in emerging optical sensing applications.

MAZeT has been dedicated to industrial and medical applications, providing robust system and application know-how in cutting-edge color and spectral sensing technologies and superior optical engineering capabilities. MAZeT possesses technological expertise encompassing both hardware and software systems, including IC and filter design, as well as JENCOLOR® sensors currently in use in applications such as aircraft interior lighting, agricultural sensors, and medical skin lesion analysis.

This company also has a business history of acting as a module supplier for former industrial shareholders. MAZeT is based in Jena, Germany, and has approximately 80 employees. The Jena region is a world-class center in the field of optical technology and is expected to serve as a strong foundation to support ams's future growth.
