Micro-Fit™ TPA Type Single-row Receptacle Announced

Molex Korea (CEO Jaehoon Lee) has launched the Micro-Fit™ TPA Type 1-row Receptacle, which provides a TPA fully integrated into the housing. The integrated TPA (Terminal Position Assurance) function ensures a secure connection to the terminal.

John Luthy, Product Manager at Molex, stated, “If connectors are assembled incompletely or incorrectly, terminal detachment occurs, degrading the operation of the final product.” He added, “Such issues lead to problems such as intermittent malfunctions or complete product failure. The Micro-Fit TPA type receptacle resolves these issues by significantly reducing terminal detachment, thereby fundamentally preventing unstable operation of the final product.”

The TPA can prevent terminal detachment by accurately positioning the terminal and thereby providing a stable terminal retention function. For example, assembly workers cannot close this TPA unless the terminal is properly connected.

The newly released receptacle also offers backward compatibility with existing Micro-Fit 3.0™ connectors and terminals. This enables customers to integrate this new TPA receptacle into existing products without changing or reinvesting in applications that require receptacles.

Micro-Fit TPA insulating receptacles are applied across all industrial sectors, ranging from home appliances and household appliances to data/computing (desktops, workstations, power supplies and UPS) and telecommunications/networking (servers, routers and switches), as well as automobiles/trucks (harnesses, unsealed applications and internal devices).
