Samsung Electronics Launches Three-Dimensional Surround Sound Soundbar

Samsung Electronics launched the soundbar 'HW-K950' with Dolby Atmos technology on the 3rd.
Dolby Atmos is an innovative cutting-edge audio technology from Dolby Laboratories, a global leader in visual and audio entertainment, implementing three-dimensional sound flowing omnidirectionally from front, rear, left, right, and top to bottom.
The 'HW-K950', Samsung Electronics' first soundbar created in collaboration with Dolby, is equipped with wireless surround and speakers with Dolby Atmos applied, allowing sound to be transmitted throughout the interior space.
Through this, consumers can three-dimensionally enjoy sounds such as an arrow crossing through a room or a hummingbird flying over their head, allowing them to enjoy music, movies, games and more with greater vividness.
The 'HW-K950' has a total of 15 built-in speakers embedded in the soundbar main unit and a wireless rear speaker supporting Dolby Atmos, implementing a 5.1.4 channel configuration.
Simply plugging in the power allows the TV, soundbar, and rear speaker to all connect wirelessly, enabling convenient enjoyment of Dolby Atmos three-dimensional sound. With upscaling technology, standard broadcasts or content without Dolby Atmos applied can also be enjoyed as immersive surround sound. Additionally, through WiFi connection, music on mobile devices can be enjoyed on the 'HW-K950' via the 'Samsung Multiroom' app.
A Samsung Electronics official stated, "Dolby Atmos is an innovative cutting-edge sound technology that delivers outstanding immersive experience by transmitting sound throughout the interior space," and added, "Going forward, consumers will be able to experience the best home entertainment through Samsung soundbars equipped with Dolby Atmos."
The 'HW-K950' soundbar has a list price of 1.69 million won, and Samsung Electronics provides wireless rear speakers supporting Dolby Atmos to customers who purchase the product.
