Improved black box operation time by approximately 70 to 100 hours

Domestic battery specialist Device Mall announced the launch of ‘Black Guardian’, an auxiliary battery for black boxes.

Black Guardian extends the operating time of the black box while protecting the car battery. If the auxiliary battery for the black box is not installed, the recording time is short, about 24 to 48 hours, and many users who park for a longer period of time have complained. In the case of consumers who park for a relatively long period of time, they disable the low voltage cutoff mode and use it with constant power to extend the operating time of the black box, but in this case, secondary damage such as the car battery being completely discharged occurs.

The company said that Black Guardian improves these issues, extending the black box's operating time to 70 to 100 hours and perfectly protecting the car battery.

Park San-ha, a researcher in charge of developing Black Guardian, advised, “When consumers purchase a black box auxiliary battery, they should consider the charging current and battery capacity depending on the driving time and parking time,” and “Since the recording time varies depending on the power consumption of the black box in use, it must be measured using an accurate calculation method.”

For example, in the case of the Black Guardian Extreme product, a black box with 4W of power consumption can operate for up to 64 hours, while a black box with 2W of power consumption can operate for up to 128 hours. Additionally, the power consumption of the black box varies depending on the driving mode and parking mode, so you should check the specifications with the manufacturer before calculating.
