Nexum's AQUA is a high-quality, battery-free DAC optimized exclusively for smart devices.
In keeping with the recent smartphone market trend of moving away from analog wired jacks (3.5mm), Aqua has released three models: Apple, Micro USB, and Type-C.
It is expected to be effective for users of Apple's iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which have eliminated the wired jack terminal, and according to foreign media reports, it is predicted that Android-based smartphones will also gradually eliminate the earphone jack.
“Music has become an essential part of modern life, and people want better sound. However, these devices are expensive, so we developed Aqua, a portable DAC (Digital to Analog Convertion) that can deliver high-resolution, hi-fi quality sound at a price that anyone can afford,” said Calvin Lu, Nexum’s overseas sales manager.
Aqua has a built-in high-quality audio decoder chip WM8533 (DAC) and MAX97220 amplifier chip, enabling it to play high-resolution sound quality better than CD. The high-quality audio decoder chip WM8533 (DAC) supports 24-bit/192kHz high-resolution playback, and the MAX97220 amplifier chip provides 100mW of headphone output, ensuring sufficient driving power even when connecting high-impedance headphones of up to 300 ohms.
It also boasts strong durability and a simple yet sophisticated design by using a design and aluminum body, and the four different colors (Silver, Rose Gold, Space Grey, Gold) add a luxurious feel. Nexium said that Aqua is small and light, making it easy to carry, and it does not require batteries, so there is no need to charge it separately.
Components include Aqua's exclusive leather case and USB conversion jack (excluding the iOS version). The official price is 98,000 won and can be purchased at ZOUND, an online shop specializing in premium audio equipment.
Meanwhile, Nexium was founded in Taiwan in 2013. It focuses heavily on wireless audio technology and design and has launched a number of related products on the market over the years.
Nexum stated that sharing stylish design and good quality products with many people is Nexum's main value.
