Next-generation SAP HANA2 to Help Customers Head Toward the Digital Future

SAP unveiled SAP HANA2, the latest version of HANA optimized for innovation, at SAP Tech Ed held in Barcelona, Spain, from November 8 to 10.
SAP HANA 2, which supports successful digital transformation based on in-memory computing platform technology, is scheduled for official release on the 30th. In addition, the Express Edition, which enables easy deployment of SAP HANA 2, is scheduled to be released shortly after the official launch. SAP provides two technical upgrades annually.
In addition, SAP announced at SAP TechEd that it will offer various microservices through SAP Hybris as a Service (also known as YaaS). Furthermore, SAP unveiled Earth observation analytics services, connected parking solutions, and new solutions and features for the SAP HANA cloud platform. Microservices, which are purpose-built services, provide services by combining small, individual services based on application components.
The SAP Hybris-based microservices launched in the U.S. market earlier this year are scheduled to be launched in the Asia-Pacific region in 2017. Users of cloud-based microservices powered by SAP HANA can enhance applications by obtaining analytical insights with simple APIs, regardless of language or development platform.
Bernd Leukert, Executive Board Member for Product and Innovation at SAP, said, “Since the launch of SAP HANA in 2010, SAP has pioneered the field of in-memory computing and is leading innovation with its highly stable Core Data Platform for customers. SAP HANA 2, as the next generation SAP HANA, sets a milestone for the industry to help customers move toward a digital future.”
Carl Olofsson, Vice President of IDC Research, said, “SAP HANA 2, the result of SAP’s continued technology leadership, helps enterprises respond quickly to the rapidly changing digital business era. The new features of SAP HANA 2 will serve as the foundation for data management and application development to evolve in line with digital transformation. In addition, SAP HANA microservices delivered through YaaS will accelerate insight-driven application innovation.”
In addition, SAP announced new services and features for the SAP HANA Cloud Platform at this event. The new solutions and features include support for virtual machines, prebuilt integrations for Ariba® Cloud Integration Gateway, and smart data streaming for rapid IoT scenarios. These capabilities help enterprises extend their on-premises and cloud environments and prepare for digital transformation.

Samsung Electronics Partners with SAP to Advance Next-Generation Memory Development

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
