LG Electronics strengthens value-oriented smartphone market strategy with diverse convenient features
'K series' provides various user experiences previously applied only to premium product lines

LG Electronics is strengthening its global market strategy by introducing value-oriented smartphones equipped with various convenient features.

LG Electronics plans to expand consumer choice in the smartphone market next year with the evolved 2017 'K series', 'Stylus 3' and other value-oriented products.

The new 'K series' consists of four models: K10, K8, K4, and K3. It features high-performance cameras and differentiated convenience functions. The K series is equipped with unique LG photo shooting functions such as 'Auto Shot' and 'Gesture Shot'.

'Auto Shot' is a function where the smartphone recognizes the user's face when taking a selfie and automatically captures the photo. 'Gesture Shot' automatically captures a photo 3 seconds after the user opens their palm toward the screen and then makes a fist, without needing to touch the screen to take the photo.

The 'K10' features a 5-megapixel 120-degree wide-angle camera on the front and a 13-megapixel high-resolution camera on the back. The 5.3-inch HD in-cell touch display offers smooth touch sensitivity. LG Electronics improved convenience by applying fingerprint recognition technology for the first time in the K series. This model stands out with its slim 7.9mm thickness, premium design, and comfortable grip feel.

The 'K8' features a 5-inch HD in-cell touch display with 5-megapixel and 13-megapixel cameras on the front and back respectively. The 'K4' has a 5-inch display with 5-megapixel cameras on both front and rear. This model achieves a slim 7.9mm thickness while incorporating a 2,500mAh removable battery. The 'K3' features a 4.5-inch display with a 2-megapixel front camera and 5-megapixel rear camera.

'Stylus 3' showcases refined and smoother writing experience

The 'Stylus 3' provides analog sensibility with refined and smoother writing experience. The 'Stylus' series offers a distinctive consumer experience with various convenient functions utilizing the built-in pen. The tip of the 'Stylus pen' is 1.8mm, approximately 40% thinner than the previous model, enabling precise and delicate writing. The writing experience has also been further improved, allowing users to feel as if they are using an actual writing instrument.

Additionally, it features various convenience functions including ▲'Pen Pop 2.0' which displays up to 15 recently created memos when the pen is removed, ▲'Quick Memo' which allows direct memo writing on the screen even when it is off, ▲'Pen Keeper' which sounds an alarm when the pen moves away from the smartphone, and more. With fingerprint recognition technology applied, users can easily and quickly turn on the screen by registering their fingerprint.

LG Electronics plans to showcase the 2017 K series four models and value-oriented products such as Stylus 3 at CES 2017, the world's largest consumer electronics exhibition to be held in Las Vegas, USA in early next year.

Jo Joon-ho, President of LG Electronics' Mobile Communications Business Unit, stated "We focused on applying convenient features that were previously installed in premium smartphones to the K series and Stylus 3 so that more customers can directly experience them," and added "We will continue to provide new value in value-oriented products through differentiated convenient features that have received positive reviews so far."
