Operates autonomously by recognizing surrounding environment and people through Deep ThinQ technology

LG Electronics held a new product launch event at Yeouido and unveiled a total of 29 new air conditioner models, including the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner.

LG Electronics applied Deep ThinQTM, a deep learning technology independently developed by the company, to the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner. The new product independently learns human habits and the surrounding environment in which the product is used, identifies spaces where people primarily spend time, and delivers comfortable air.

LG Electronics equipped the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner with a Deep ThinQ-based SmartCare function. Using the SmartCare function, the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner autonomously determines and operates the cooling space, cooling mode, and air purification activation timing. To implement the SmartCare function, approximately 500,000 images of various indoor environments have been loaded into the database. After the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner is installed in a new location and approximately one week passes, it can acquire the necessary indoor space data for SmartCare function operation.

The Whisen Dual Air Conditioner maintains indoor temperature and humidity using the principle of convection. It sends weak but cool air toward the upper part of the room, allowing cold air to descend and warm air to circulate. Users are not exposed to cold air directly. Additionally, the PM1.0 sensor monitors indoor air quality in real-time, and when it detects contaminants, it automatically activates the air purification function.

The Whisen Dual Air Conditioner features a smart dual cooling function that detects the number and location of people through a human detection camera and automatically controls the intensity and direction of air from two cold air outlets.

Smart dual power-saving cooling reduces power consumption by up to 50.3% when only one person is in the living room, as it uses only the outlet in the direction where the person is located rather than both outlets.

Smart dual power cooling automatically detects where people are located and concentrates air that is 4°C colder than the standard mode. It cools a specific area up to 41% faster compared to distributing air throughout the entire indoor space, while using approximately 15% less electricity.

Dual Inverter Compressor and Smart Home Service, Enhanced Tropical Night Sleep Function

The Whisen Dual Air Conditioner achieves energy-saving performance through an inverter compressor and smart home service. It is equipped with a dual inverter compressor that increases energy efficiency and reduces noise. Two cylinders simultaneously compress refrigerant, which is characterized by increased energy efficiency and reduced noise.

Through the dedicated SmartThinQ application, users can check real-time energy consumption and estimated electricity costs of the Whisen Dual Air Conditioner. Users can also receive recommendations for appropriate operating modes based on indoor temperature, humidity, and air pollution levels, and can check filter replacement intervals and malfunction status.

The Whisen Dual Air Conditioner purifies air through six stages: ▲removal of general dust ▲removal of fine dust to ultra-fine dust ▲removal of odors and harmful gases ▲removal of sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which cause smog ▲removal of viruses and bacteria.

The Whisen Dual Air Conditioner is also equipped with a 'clean monitoring system' that measures indoor air pollution and displays it on the upper display. This function displays indoor air quality in levels 1 through 4, making it easy to determine when air purification is needed. Additionally, it has a powerful dehumidification function capable of removing up to 100 liters of moisture per day. It also features an enhanced tropical night sleep function. It gradually lowers or raises indoor temperature according to users' sleep time.

LG Electronics decided to use only copper material in the connection piping between the indoor and outdoor units of all Whisen Dual Air Conditioner models launching this year. Previously, both copper and aluminum were used. Copper has more than twice lower oxidation probability in air compared to aluminum and has more than three times greater strength.

The new products are available in 17 pyeong (56.9m²), 19 pyeong (62.6m²), and 22 pyeong (74.5m²) depending on area. New colors such as Romantic Rose and Romantic Ocean have been introduced. To commemorate the launch, the 'LG Whisen Early Purchase Festival' promotion will run from January 16 to April 3.
