LG Uplus signs strategic MOU with Halla Holdings

LG Uplus will establish information and communications technology (ICT) for Halla Group. The company will provide telecommunications services including ultra-high-speed internet, dedicated lines, and wireline telephone services to all of Halla Group's affiliates.

LG Uplus announced on the 23rd that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Halla Holdings for the "introduction and implementation of next-generation ICT environment for Halla Group."

Accordingly, LG Uplus plans to build ICT technology and infrastructure across all of Halla Group's affiliates while providing telecommunications services, the company said.

ICT services provided by LG Uplus to Halla Group include ultra-high-speed internet and dedicated lines as well as comprehensive wireline communications including wireline telephone and facsimile services.

Kim Hee-kwon, Senior Managing Director and CIO (Chief Information Officer) of Halla Group, said, "We have been pursuing ICT innovation within the group, including the introduction of next-generation communications, and with this agreement with LG Uplus, we will be able to execute next-generation ICT implementation more rapidly."

Kwak Soon-goo, Head of Corporate Sales 2 at LG Uplus, emphasized, "Based on our wireline services, we plan to expand cooperation in the future to include LTE and IoT, and we will spare no effort in supporting both companies to achieve mutual benefits."

Meanwhile, following the signing of the MOU on that day, information and communications and systems operation personnel working at Halla Group affiliates held a joint workshop with LG Uplus.
