Complies with Requirements According to ISO 26262 Automotive Functional Safety Standard

Korea Mentor Graphics announced that Tessent DefectSim, a solution that measures defect coverage for all tests applied to analog circuits or mixed-signal circuits, has won the '2016 Product of the Year Award' from Electronic Products Magazine, a globally recognized IT trade publication.

The Product of the Year Award selected by Electronic Products Magazine is given to products released in 2016 that represent innovative design and technological advancement, and is selected by the editorial team.



The Tessent DefectSim product enables designers to use this tool to make more effective choices in DFT (Design-for-Test) and manufacturing test, thereby improving the quality of analog and mixed-signal circuits in IC design.

Additionally, this tool helps primary suppliers in the automotive sector meet the relevant requirements established according to the ISO 26262 automotive functional safety standard.

The Tessent DefectSim tool works in conjunction with Mentor's design automation verification solutions Eldo and Questa ADMS simulators to measure the probability-weighted percentage of open circuits, short circuits, extreme variations, and user-defined defects or defect models that can be detected in layout-extracted netlists or schematic netlists.

Stephen Sunter, Engineering Director of the Mixed-Signal DFT Division at Mentor Graphics, stated, "This analysis tool is the only general-purpose analog defect simulator available as a commercial product on the market."
