igus Unveils Robot Assembly Kit Anyone Can Assemble

igus has unveiled a new assembly kit for its 5-axis multi-joint robot arm, the robolink D. Available in two versions—one for user-configurable assembly and one for pre-assembled assembly—the kit offers the advantage of being accessible to anyone, even those not familiar with robotics.
RoboLink, which aims to provide 'easy entry into the world of robotics for anyone', features a simple configuration and quick installation assembly with actual multi-joint arms, motors, and gear boxes, and is also available as a fully assembled arm ready to connect, allowing users to freely implement their own automation systems.
RoboLink, a modular robot comprised of a motor and gearbox, along with a user-selectable, self-configured, or pre-assembled 5-axis articulated arm, is highly regarded for its adaptability, enabling a variety of robotic tasks to be configured by the user. The robot arm is constructed using plastic and aluminum, and the motors and joints are available in a variety of installation sizes.
The connecting system used for these components is an igus stepper motor and Robolink joint (including metal connecting parts). The center distance can be adjusted by changing the connecting parts, and commercially available motors can also be used. Sizes are differentiated based on the load-bearing capacity provided, with the small model supporting up to 0.5 kg and the large model supporting up to 2.5 kg.
You can also order pre-assembled complete robots, including the control system. When ordering pre-assembled products, you can specify the application such as rotary motion, angular motion, 2-axis swivel arm, etc. Above all, its light weight and easy configuration make it useful for all industrial automation from robotics manufacturing to automotive production and medical technology.
Meanwhile, the website offers the robolink online tool, allowing customers to order robot arm configurations and pre-assembly online. In addition to motors and joints, the igus hainflex flexible cable is also available, backed by a 36-month warranty.
