SanDisk Launches MicroSD Card with High-Speed Transfer Support

Western Digital (WDC) has launched a microSD card that meets the Application Performance Class 1 (A1) requirements of the SD 5.1 specification .
MicroSD cards have played a crucial role in digital imaging, including action cameras, drones, dashcams, and CCTV, and have also influenced the development of smartphones. The 256GB SanDisk Ultra microSD card offers the capacity and performance consumers demand. It can store up to 24 hours of Full HD video and transfers at speeds of up to 95MB/s. A1 performance allows you to run apps at a fast speed.
With the introduction of Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, you can now select a microSD card on your smartphone to load and launch apps directly.
An A1-rated card can manage 1,500 IOPS (input/output accesses per second) of random reads and 500 IOPS of writes, allowing it to handle audio, graphics, stored profiles, in-app authorization, and more.

The SanDisk Memory Zone Ultra microSD card, rated A1, is compatible with the SanDisk Memory Zone app for Android, allowing users to manage and back up their device's content. The SanDisk Memory Zone app is available for free on the Google Play Store. The card is available now for purchase with a suggested retail price of ₩370,000.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems.
