LG to Support Solar Panels for Hospitals in Power-Strapped Regions

LG Electronics is installing solar power generation equipment at the Mangamandi Regional Health Center located in Lahore, Pakistan, to support power supply.



Lahore, where the Mangamandi Regional Health Center is located, is an area suffering from severe power shortages, with power supply being cut off for a minimum of 6 hours to a maximum of 18 hours per day. Particularly during the hot summer months when temperatures rise to 45 degrees Celsius, power supply is frequently interrupted.

LG Electronics will provide LG solar panels rated at 9.9 kilowatts to the Mangamandi Regional Health Center. This equipment can supply 100% of the power used in the emergency room.

Additionally, LG Electronics will provide products necessary for hospital operations, including vaccine-dedicated refrigerators, air conditioners, TVs, and monitors.

Meanwhile, LG Electronics previously provided solar power generation equipment to two hospitals (Hefz Alnemeh Center, Dummar Center) located in Damascus, the capital of Syria, last year. These hospitals are primarily used by refugees and low-income populations affected by conflict.

Cha Kook-hwan, Senior Vice President of LG Electronics' Middle East and Africa region, said, "We will take an active lead in social contribution activities by utilizing LG Electronics' 'Warm Technology.'"
