LG Electronics Receives International Standard Certification for Disaster Response Capability in EV Components Business
Published2017.03.08 16:53LG Electronics has received international certification for management capability that enables rapid response and recovery in the event of various disasters or accidents in its electric vehicle components business.
LG Electronics' VC (Vehicle Components) Business Division has acquired 'ISO22301 (Business Continuity Management System)' certification for its electric vehicle components business from global certification body 'SGS Certification'. The 'ISO22301' certification is an international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to minimize business interruption caused by disasters or accidents.
In the automotive business, when major disasters result in supply disruptions from parts suppliers and production stoppages at finished vehicle manufacturers, the national economy suffers significant damage, making the continuity and safety of the supply chain extremely important.
Through this certification, LG Electronics' VC Business Division has received recognition for business continuity systems for eight core electric vehicle components including battery packs, drive motors, and inverters. With this, LG Electronics has secured management capability to rapidly normalize electric vehicle components production operations and infrastructure within target timeframes according to pre-established recovery plans in response to various disasters ranging from fires, explosions, and equipment failures to workforce shortages due to epidemics.
Lee Woo-jong, President of LG Electronics' VC Business Division, stated, "Considering the special characteristics of the automotive components sector, this certification represents external recognition of the continuity of production activities to secure sustained market competitiveness," and added, "We will continue to conduct intensive training and education to enable swift response to actual disaster situations."

The company filed applications not only in Korea but also in North America and Europe. TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
