STMicroelectronics has launched ST-AudioWeaver, a GUI-based design tool that helps implement high-end audio features, such as advanced audio user interfaces, in small electronic devices like wearables and IoT devices.


ST-AudioWeaver is provided free of charge to developers using 32-bit ARM Cortex-M-based STM32 microcontrollers, and for this purpose, ST collaborated with DSP Concepts, the developer of AudioWeaver. AudioWeaver allows users to implement complex digital audio applications without coding. The process involves selecting necessary audio modules from the library, connecting them graphically, and then adjusting them via live tuning on the corresponding hardware. It also includes development examples to help start new projects.

Daniel Colonna, Senior Vice President of Marketing at ST Microcontrollers, stated, “ST customers have priority access to ST-AudioWeaver to fully leverage the audio performance of STM32 MCUs,” and Dr. Paul Beckmann, Founder of DSP Concepts, explained, “Product designers can now integrate advanced audio capabilities into IoT and wearable devices much more easily using ST-AudioWeaver. Audio engineers will appreciate the ease with which physical components can be combined, much like plugging them in. After that, they can adjust knobs and sliders to get everything ready. All of this happens on the screen.”
