NI Unveils Integrated Smart Factory Solution at 'Automation World 2017'
Published2017.03.22 09:39National Instruments announced that it will participate in the automation industry exhibition 'Automation World 2017,' being held at COEX for four days from March 29 to 31, and will showcase integrated solutions and demonstrations for factory automation.
At this exhibition, NI will unveil smart factory solutions that reduce costs and time while implementing customized product manufacturing. The company plans to demonstrate vision-based robot calibration to prepare for multi-product small-batch production, and will showcase TSN (Time Sensitive Network) as a core technology for converged networks to enable efficient factory operation.
NI's smart solutions will also be on display. NI InsightCM, an online condition monitoring solution, includes specialized hardware options and collects and analyzes data from sensors and equipment to identify asset status. Additionally, it monitors the entire facility through open-source software. This monitoring solution will transmit information received from sensors to a server via SKT LTE network, and NI will disclose technology configured with OSI's PI system software and HPE's hardware.
Also to be exhibited, the NI industrial controller, an embedded vision system, offers compatibility with thousands of camera types along with the processor and integration capabilities with third-party automation equipment, all in a fanless package, enabling easy-to-program design. Additionally, embedded particle automated analysis, industrial automation communication protocols, and smart factory systems utilizing LEGO Mindstorms can be verified through demonstrations.
Kim Jong-woo, manager of strategic marketing at Korea NI, stated, "At this event, NI will present the future vision of smart factories pursuing complete automation and introduce NI's innovative technologies that reduce costs while increasing productivity across all sectors," and added, "We hope that customers will directly experience and utilize NI's smarter smart factory solutions and actively prepare for the upcoming Industry 4.0 era."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers.
