LG G6 to Launch LG Pay Service Starting in June
Published2017.03.22 10:57On the 21st, LG Electronics' MC Research Institute signed a technical cooperation agreement to apply Dynamics' WMC (Wireless Magnetic Communication) technology to LG Pay. WMC is a payment method that generates magnetic signals from mobile devices such as smartphones to enable contactless payment at card payment terminals.
Users can make payments by selecting a card from mobile devices equipped with LG Pay service. The G6 already has LG Pay hardware installed, and LG Pay domestic service will begin in June through a future software update. In addition to offline payments, plans are underway to expand functionality to include online payments, various membership services, banking services and other diverse payment and financial services.
Seven domestic credit card companies have decided to participate in the service, and the schedule for each card company will be announced later.
