IoT Ventilation Fan Handles Ventilation, Warm Air, and Hair Dryer Functions with Efficiency
Published2017.03.23 17:41LG Uplus has signed a business cooperation agreement with Himpel, a company specializing in indoor air quality, and is introducing an IoT ventilation fan.
The IoT ventilation fan is a bathroom-specialized IoT product integrated with the home IoT platform 'IoT@home' app. Users can remotely control ventilation, heating, and hair drying functions 24 hours a day. Temperature and humidity sensors in the bathroom automatically activate the ventilation function when humidity is detected.
By using the app, you can turn on the bathroom heater in advance in the morning to use a bathroom heated with warm air. The ventilation fan allows you to dry hair with a strong breeze and features a plasma negative ion function to help prevent mold.
A Himpel official stated, “The IoT ventilation fan can improve the indoor environment to be comfortable and healthy by applying IoT to heat exchangers, which are ventilation systems capable of solving problems such as yellow dust and ultrafine dust that have recently become social issues.”

LG U+ Home IoT System to be Installed in Airline Employee Cooperative Apartment LG U+ announced on the 27th that it will establish a Home IoT system in 10,000 units of apartments being constructed and supplied by SkyTown Housing Cooperative, which is primarily composed of airline and airport corporation employees, in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi Province. LG U+ signed a business agreement with Cheongil Construction, SkyTown Housing Cooperative, and CV Net, a home network system developer. The company plans to first supply the Home IoT system to 3,857 units including 1,600 units across 16 buildings of Gimpo Sau SkyTown located in Sau-dong and Gamjeong-dong in Gimpo-si, and 2,257 units of 'Gimpo Hangang SkyTown'. Subsequently, LG U+'s IoT system will be established in an additional approximately 6,100 units including 'Incheon Bullo SkyTown' to be constructed in this area.

LG Uplus Demonstrates Electricity Saving Effects of IoT Energy Meter
LG U+ has demonstrated that its "Energy Mission" service utilizing IoT energy meters is effective in reducing electricity consumption during peak hours when usage is highest. From July of last year through February of this year, LG U+ analyzed customers who participated in the Energy Mission, which measures electricity consumption between 2 PM to 3 PM and 6 PM to 7 PM among subscribers of its IoT energy meter-based energy management service. The participating households engaged in the mission a total of 15,410 times.
