Korean ITS Society to Hold Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles

The Korean ITS Society announced that it will jointly host a "Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles" with MDS Technology, an embedded solutions specialist, on April 5th.
This seminar will be held as a side event of the Seoul Motor Show at KINTEX in Ilsan, focusing on autonomous vehicles and the latest IT convergence technologies. Various information will be shared regarding government policy directions on autonomous vehicles, safety evaluation and security technologies, driver-vehicle interfaces, convergence and integration strategies, and new services.
The Advanced Automotive Technology Division of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will present support policies including institutional improvements and infrastructure development to commercialize Level 3 autonomous vehicles by 2020, as well as major business promotion plans for this year. The Korea Automobile Testing and Research Institute will present plans for constructing K-city, a dedicated autonomous vehicle testing city, and the Korea Transport Institute will introduce the development direction and tasks of electric vehicles.
Furthermore, SK Telecom will introduce V2X and 5G technologies, which are core technologies for autonomous driving, and LG Electronics will introduce advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology. The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KTL) will present control system safety technology.
Lee Jong-chul, president of the Korean ITS Society, stated: "Given the growing interest in autonomous vehicles, which converge the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and IoT with automotive technology, we have arranged a venue to introduce automobile convergence technologies and discuss future development directions. We hope that many relevant personnel from complete vehicle manufacturers, parts suppliers, and research institutes will attend to share future automotive technology information."

TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
