Korean ITS Society Successfully Holds Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles

SKT, LG Electronics, ETAS, Uber, and Others Present at the Seminar
The Korean ITS Society announced that it successfully held a "Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles" jointly with MDS Technology.
Conditional autonomous vehicles are scheduled to be introduced in 2020, while fully autonomous vehicles are expected to be introduced around 2030. For successful and prompt commercialization of autonomous vehicles, technology development related to autonomous driving, expansion of supporting infrastructure, and institutional improvements are required.
Accordingly, the Korean ITS Society discussed government policy directions for autonomous vehicle development, safety assessment and security technology, driver-vehicle interfaces, convergence and integration strategies, and new services. The seminar consisted of a total of 10 sessions, and approximately 300 experts from research institutions and companies in the autonomous vehicle and ITS fields attended.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Advanced Automobile Technology Division presented support policies including institutional improvements and infrastructure construction to commercialize Level 3 autonomous vehicles in 2020, as well as major business promotion plans for this year. The Automobile Safety Research Institute presented construction plans for K-City, a dedicated experimental city for autonomous vehicles, and the Korea Transport Institute introduced the development direction and challenges for electric vehicles.
SK Telecom introduced V2X and 5G technology, core technologies for autonomous driving, while LG Electronics introduced advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) technology. The Korea Institute of Industrial Technology presented control system safety technology. The Korea Institute of Construction Technology presented a precision map platform for autonomous vehicles, ETAS introduced cybersecurity, and Uber discussed changes in urban transportation and deep learning technology applications.
Lee Jong-chul, President of the Korean ITS Society, stated, "Given the recent increased interest in autonomous vehicles, we organized a venue to introduce application cases where the latest technologies such as transportation and communication technology, artificial intelligence, big data, and IoT converge, and to discuss new service creation and development directions. With the attendance of not only complete vehicle manufacturers, parts suppliers, and research institutions, but also numerous portal company representatives, this contributed significantly to enhancing future automotive technology competitiveness."

Korean ITS Society to Hold Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles
The Korean ITS Society announced that it will jointly host a "Future Technology Seminar on Autonomous Vehicles" with MDS Technology, an embedded solutions specialist, on April 5th. This seminar will be held as a side event of the Seoul Motor Show at KINTEX in Ilsan, focusing on autonomous vehicles and the latest IT convergence technologies. TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
