Acronis Announces BaaS Platform with Enhanced Data Integration Management and Ransomware Protection
Published2017.04.07 17:23Acronis announced Acronis Backup Cloud, a cloud-based backup-as-a-service platform. This cloud enables integrated data management for multi-tenant and multi-tier devices, as well as defense against sophisticated ransomware attacks.
It announced the integration of cPanel and Plesk's native multi-tier and multi-tenant architectures as part of the extension of existing cPanel and Plesk servers. Additionally, by displaying this in widgets and user control panels, it supports hosting companies in performing image-based server backup recovery and automatically executing website recovery.
The key features of Acronis Backup Cloud are fast backup technology, easy integration with major service automation software, and the ability to double the benefits of the architecture with additional support for Fless and cPanel servers.
John Jani, CMO of Acronis, said, “Acronis provides data protection technology proven by thousands of service providers, 500,000 business users, and 5 million individual users. With every new feature added to the Acronis platform, we will be able to see new business models from service providers.”

Easily move large volumes of data to the cloud without performance degradation!
Dell EMC has launched a cloud-based Storage Gateway in cooperation with KT and Tech Data, an ICT distribution specialist. The Storage Gateway is a storage service based on Dell's cloud transfer solution CloudArray, which extends local storage in on-premises environments to KT UCloud Biz. Tech Data is responsible for consulting, implementation, and support services. The Storage Gateway enables high-speed transmission or storage of large-volume media data to the cloud, and through the local cache of the cloud gateway, cloud storage can be utilized without performance degradation. With policy-based cache configuration, it meets various performance requirements as needed.

Limelight Announces Cloud Storage Enhanced with 'Intelligent Collection'
Limelight Networks has announced its cloud storage service 'Limelight Origin Storage Service'. Limelight decided to provide free access enabling all users to permanently use a maximum of 25GB of storage capacity. The newly announced intelligent collection feature by Limelight simplifies the process of moving VOD, file distribution, web, gaming, and e-commerce content to Limelight Origin Storage, thereby accelerating the CDN. This feature is based on two modes—'user demand' and 'manifest'—helping customers determine which content to automatically migrate. All content can be migrated or selectively migrated without interrupting the workflow.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.

As enterprises increase demand for integrated management and automation in the construction and operation of Security Operations Centers (SOC), Kaspersky has disclosed updates to its B2B security product suite 'Kaspersky Next'. This update expands EPP, EDR, XDR, and SIEM integration through a single console based on OSMP, incorporates AI capabilities such as DLL hijacking detection and suspicious account takeover behavior identification, and includes integration with generative AI assistant tool KIRA. The company stated that in large-scale deployment environments, EDR Expert can reduce resource requirements by up to 30%, and XDR Expert by up to 60%.
