Camera, sensor, and video analysis companies come together to develop a security system that ‘catches everything’
Published2017.04.26 00:39Intelligent image analysis company Illisis, positioning camera company Semocon, and global detection sensor company Optex announced that they have formed a partnership to jointly develop high-performance image security products and enter the market.
The new product being developed is a high-definition, high-sensitivity solution that can complement the problems of existing defense and perimeter video security systems. It controls information from laser scan sensors, microwave sensors, and optical sensors, as well as mid- and long-range positioning cameras, and performs integrated situation analysis and automatic tracking.
When an intruder is detected by Optex's detection sensor, the detection signal is transmitted to Illicis' video analysis solution 'IntelliVIX', and Semocon's positioning security camera is immediately moved to the intruder's path to perform event detection. When event detection through intruder sensor detection and surveillance video analysis occurs in combination, an alarm is ultimately sent to the manager.

As commercialization of Level 3 autonomous driving technology begins, interest in advanced driver assistance systems is also increasing. ADAS systems serve as a foundation for autonomous vehicles, and while they initially primarily functioned to inform drivers of road conditions through notifications, they have recently advanced to the level of automatically controlling the steering wheel, brakes, and other components. ARM Launches Image Processing Device for Accurate Viewing and Safe Driving
ARM has announced the launch of ARM Mali-C71, an image signal processor (ISP) and the first product in the Mali Camera product family. The new Mali-C71 processor was designed for SoCs for ADAS applications. As autonomous driving technology advances, ADAS applications require enhanced image processing capabilities such as vehicle mirror replacement, drowsy driver detection, and pedestrian protection systems. Market research firm Strategy Analytics forecasts that "the number of cameras required for technology implementation will increase," and "within the next five years, most premium vehicles will be equipped with up to 12 cameras." This type of complex camera technology must be capable of rapidly processing and analyzing video even in the worst weather conditions, and must be designed to meet stringent automotive safety standards. It is not possible to achieve this by integrating general camera technology used in smartphones or consumer video cameras.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
