Artesyn Embedded Technologies has launched a new line of low-power industrial DC-DC converters targeting a wide range of fields, including instrumentation, data communications and telecom, computer peripherals, and industrial automation. Artesyn’s new ATA series isolated DC-DC converters support 6W and 8W power outputs and consist of 14 models across different power output series. By employing a DIP-16 form factor, they minimize board footprint while delivering very high power density.

All ATA series converters feature wide 4:1 inputs, with 7 of the models using 9-36 V inputs and the remaining 7 models using 18-75 V inputs. Within these two categories, you can choose from five single-output models providing 3.3 V, 5 V, 12 V, 15 V, or 24 V, and two dual-output models providing +12/-12 V or +15/-15 V.


Completely encapsulated in an ultra-compact 0.94 x 0.54-inch (24 x 13.7 mm) shielded metal case, this converter is only 0.32 inches (8 mm) tall. The operating temperature range of the 8W model is -40 to 80 degrees Celsius, and the maximum operating temperature of the 6W model is 90 degrees Celsius; at other temperatures, it can operate at appropriately lowered ratings.

Providing a conversion efficiency of up to 86%, this converter minimizes the need for external EMI filtering through 370kHz fixed-frequency switching and complies with EN 55022 Class A and FCC Level A standards for conducted noise. Standard features include 1,500 VDC input/output isolation, no-load power consumption, no minimum load requirements, remote on/off, and overload voltage and short-circuit protection.
